February 2002. Massive content here, with three full tests and two lesser ones, plus all the usual regular content. How we did it, I really don’t know. Life was easier with three of us in the office, of course – Jane doing stuff and chasing baby Alexander about, Teresa chasing advertisers and late-renewing subscribers, and me chasing deadlines, or out and about on these good-bad and indifferent bikes and trikes.
Some of these machines are seriously good. The Bike Friday Traveller Triple could carry the entire family, the Twike was a good-looking two-seater electric trike, with fairly nominal pedal-assist, but it was enough to keep you warm, and the Dahon Jetstream was a good folding bike. On the other hand, the Aprilia Enjoy Race was total rubbish from the gears to the motor and the battery, and the Space Genie was a bit of a joke compared to the Brompton, or indeed most Dahon models. All thoroughly interesting stuff anyway.
