Crikey, this was a long time ago now. Brompton was just coming of age as a mainstream consumer product, the electric bike was similarly settling as something ordinary folk might choose to buy, and there we were giving advice on keeping an early LaFree going. They had been around since around 2000 and had long-since been abandoned by Giant.
