This is the 3rd edition of ‘Brompton Bicycle’, published in 2020. It replaced by an updated 4th edition in 2024, but this edition is £1 cheaper AND discounted by 50%. However, we only have a very small number.

Fascinating History
The story would be hard to make up. A lone inventor, struggling for years in his bedroom building prototypes. Eventually he produces a world-class folding bike. The idea was to sell the concept to a consumer engineering business. But none were interested. Eventually, Andrew Ritchie was forced to go it alone, starting a company that is now one of the biggest and most successful folding bike manufacturers in the world, and the biggest bicycle manufacturer in the UK.

Access to all the Players
‘Brompton Bicycle’ is based on taped interviews with the major players. Ritchie himself, plus his management team, competitors, backers, shareholders and financiers. The first chapters cover the early development of folding bikes and the detailed story of the Brompton. There are also tips and hints for anyone buying or maintaining a new or secondhand Brompton.

The book was expanded in size to 226 pages and 165mm x 235mm. All in a plush silver cover with artwork by Diana Powell.
